Pope Benedict XVI, 85, the former Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger who took office in 2005, said on Monday that he will retire Feb. 28, the first pope to do so in six centuries. He said he could no longer perform his duties due to deteriorating health. Source Main page (current trends)
