Stream Deafheaven: Sunbather on Pitchfork Advance »

San Francisco’s Deafheaven release Sunbather on June 11 via Deathwish, Inc. The band’s sophomore album is a blast-beaten metal epic that’s melodically darker than their 2011 debut, Roads to Judah. The collection finds George Clarke “screaming aching prose” over guitarist Kerry McCoy’s "immediate and shoegaze-indebted builds." The 7-song tracklist serves as "a lucid dream of warmth despite the stinging pain of life's cruel idealism." Source Main page (current trends)
