Four firefighters die in 5-alarm hotel fire in southwest Houston »

Firefighters battled a four-alarm fire Friday afternoon along a U.S. 59 in southwest Houston. The fire broke out about 12:10 p.m. along the inbound Southwest Freeway near Hornwood, according to the Houston Fire Department. The blaze sent black smoke billowing over the freeway, causing traffic to slow in the area. It was unclear if any injuries had been reported or what sparked the blaze.
