Why Johnny Depp Always Carries His Captain Jack Sparrow Costume »

While some actors are trying to break away from their defining character roles, Johnny Depp is making sure he keeps Captain Jack Sparrow close to his heart — literally! The 50-year-old told E! News while promoting his latest flick, "The Lone Ranger," that he always makes sure to have his "Pirates of the Carribean" costume on him at all times. "Sometimes you go to kiddie hospitals and things like that," and added, "I'll just sneak in and go and surprise a bunch of kiddies through the different wards. …It basically turns into a two-, three-hour improvisation, and it's really fun. So I travel with Captain Jack." Of course, there are many parts to the costume, including his trusty bird, which, Johnny admitted, having with him could be tricky while traveling. "That bird going through customs is going to be weird, isn't it?" But the actor managed to come up with a creative way to fix the situation, saying, "I'll just put a handle on top of it, and it will be a handbag."
