One of the single greatest moments in the entire Pink Floyd discography, including all of the many hundreds of hours of bootlegs—if you ask me, that is—is one that came at the very beginning: “Lucy Leave,” a song they recorded in 1965 before they had even chosen the name Pink Floyd. The band heard here also includes original lead guitarist Bob Klose who quit in mid-1965. Later that year, the group learned of another band using the name they’d been gigging under—The Tea Set—and so they changed their moniker to The Pink Floyd Sound, paying tribute to blues musicians Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.
