Ariel Castro was found hanging in his cell Tuesday. The convicted kidnapper and rapist of Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus was 53 years old. He had held the three girls captive for over a decade. After being outed in July by an infamous 911 call by charismatic neighbor Charles Ramsey, Castro was sentenced August 1 to life in prison, plus 1,000 years kidnap and sexual assault. Castro was being held at the Correction Reception Center in Orient, OH in Pickaway County. The death is being investigated by Ohio State Police and the Department of Corrections Authorities from the Department of Corrections released this statement: Inmate Ariel Castro was found hanging in his cell this evening at 9:20 pm at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient.
