Kind-hearted custodian puts school in the pink »
Last spring when Ernest Simmonds’ nine-year-old granddaughter was being bullied by other students at Nelson Whynder Elementary School in North Preston, his wife bought two T-shirts for her and her friend that said, “Don’t be a bully, be a friend.” Right then and there, Simmonds, the school’s custodian, told his wife he wanted to spread the message further that bullying is not acceptable behaviour.
